Results and the UN Global Goals

Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak invests EU money in projects that - in a sustainable way - want to solve different types of societal challenges. To put these societal challenges into a larger context, the projects work towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Logon för Globala målen

Projects funded by the programme drive change that are in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The following four global goals have proven to be particularly relevant for the Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak programme in 2014-2020.

Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-being

Our projects cross border lines for the health and well-being of its citizens. We do this by investing in projects that improve treatments and diagnostics. The projects also contribute to creating new solutions that can be used in hospitals or at home via an app on the phone.

Goal 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy

We cross borders to reduce people's negative impact on the climate. Several of our projects work on saving energy and reducing emissions.

Goal 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth

Our projects cross borders so that we do not lose our Scandinavian competitiveness, to avoid unemployment and a labour market with closed borders. Some of our projects work with individuals - to create more or new types of jobs. Other projects focus on helping companies and entrepreneurs.

Goal 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities

We cross borders so that we can move and travel - also in the future. Projects supported by us work with sustainable transport and new transport solutions.

We continuously ask our projects to make estimates of their contribution to solving societal challenges. We turn the answers into numbers that show cross-border cooperation in figures.

To bring the numbers to life, we also produce stories about the benefit of EU financed projects.
