Societal problems require solutions

Our 14 regions in southern Scandinavia have together identified several challenges and societal problems that transcend national borders. With money from Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak, it is possible for Danes, Swedes, and Norwegians to cooperate across borders to solve these problems.

The problems do not stop at the border. Neither do the solutions.

The problems do not stop at the border. Neither do the solutions.

The problems we want to solve are within four thematic areas.

Carbon dioxide emissions, climate disasters and waste of resources are some of the problems that must be averted and prevented. Projects within the thematic area of Green Transition aim to promote renewable energy, the transition to a circular economy and prevention and adaptation to climate changes.

Projects within the thematic area of Innovation and Entrepreneurship will contribute to strengthening global competitiveness and creating cross-border regional added value within the regions' common areas of specialization, where green transition and life science are particularly prominent.

Traffic congestion, uneven traffic flows and lack of sustainable alternatives for mobility have a negative impact on society and, not least, people's quality of life. Projects within the thematic area Transport and Mobility will contribute to a more cohesive, sustainable, competitive and attractive Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak.

Lack of skilled labour and challenges in commuting to neighbouring countries is also a pressing societal challenge. Projects within the thematic area of Borderless Labour Market will contribute to solving these challenges and develop an effective cross-border labour market.

Common challenges require common solutions. Do you have an idea for a project? We have the money that can realize your idea.
